Upper Clatford Covid Community Action
Upper Clatford
UPDATE FROM PARISH COUNCIL
The popular message in recent Christmas cards must have been good wishes for a better 2021 with growing optimism for defeating COVID-19, but here we are with evidence highlighting a deterioration in national control of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the number of UK daily coronavirus cases topping 60,000 for the first time and about 1 in 50 people across the country having the virus. It was unsurprising therefore that the PM announced on Monday night that new Tier 5 restrictions would be imposed across England until probably mid February.
This news will come as a disappointment to everyone with challenges and uncertainty for many people, but it is vital that the virus is brought under control to protect lives. On a positive note the vaccination programme is proceeding well with 1.3M people already vaccinated, and those in the vulnerable category scheduled to be offered a vaccine in the coming months.
Meanwhile our COVID-19 Community Support Group is still in place if support is required over the coming months. The support bubbles are still extant and there have been some requests for support, so if you need help with tasks such as shopping, prescription collections or just need conversation please get in touch via email on [email protected], or give either myself (07775 420771) or Charles Eyre (07730 304290) a call.
May I also draw your attention to the Parish Council website which has a COVID-19 Community Support page at https://www.upperclatford.com/community/upper-clatford-15048/community-action---covid-19-emergency/ with up to date information.
Take care and stay safe,
