Upper Clatford and Anna Valley May Fayre
Request for Grant – 2022
Who is eligible and how eligibility is assessed:
The purpose of the May Fayre is to organise an annual village event to raise funds for Upper Clatford and Anna Valley voluntary organisations. All monies raised are used to support the voluntary organisations that are directly linked or associated with the community of Upper Clatford and Anna Valley. If your organisation would like to apply for a grant, please fill in the form below and send to: [email protected]. Applications need to be in by 15th July and funds will be disbursed in August 2022.
For around 40 years, Upper Clatford and Anna Valley residents have been organising a May Fayre on the first bank holiday Monday in May. It’s a popular village event which attracts nearly 1000 visitors and generally raises over £4000. Running costs are kept to a minimum and all the profit is ploughed back into local community projects and societies.
A great deal of work and effort goes into organising such an event and we are always looking for volunteers and value their contribution – however large or small. If you are able to offer any help with collecting, running a stall or with the set up and clear up, we’re always keen to welcome new volunteers. Typically, we need help with the following:
- Collecting bric a brac and selling raffle tickets
- Erecting and taking down gazebos, stalls and a variety of tents
- Running the stalls and children’s events
