The inaugural meeting of the Anna Valley, Red Rice and Upper Clatford Neighbourhood Development Plan took place in the Village Hall last night with over 130 residents turning up to find out more about it.  Participants heard presentations by Katie Rasdall Lawes, The Principal Planning Policy Officer at TVBC on the consultation which starts imminently to review the Local Plan, the reasons why an NDP is an important planning tool for any Parish Council and how many other Parishes are doing across the Borough. Peter Kiddle, Parish Councillor – Goodworth Clatford gave explained the benefits of an NDP and the experience that Goodworth Clatford had had, where they currently are in the process and some of the beneficial impacts it has brought to their community. Charles Eyre, Chairman of the NDP Steering Group outlined the proposed programme and timeline.  He also explained why it was so important that we have evidence of participation of as many of the community as possible over the course of the next year, to ensure the resulting Neighbourhood Development Plan truly reflects the aspirations of the community.

The presentations were followed by a lively discussion.

The presentations have been uploaded to the Document Centre of the Neighbourhood Development Plan on this site.

Charles asked all members of the public to complete the questionnaire as soon as possible and that it would be much more efficient for everyone, if this is done online by going to https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/neighbourhood_plan.

The opportunity to get involved as a volunteer in this stage of the process was taken up by 50 of those participating and the Steering Group has allocated houses to each volunteer, who will be responsible for delivering a short pamphlet on the NDP process and a copy of the Questionnaire. We would prefer that you completed the online version which you can find at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/neighbourhood_plan.

Peter Heslop, Chairman of the Parish Council chaired the meeting, thanked the Borough Councillors for attending, TVBC for their support and residents for coming out and getting involved.
