Update 4 Dec 20

Many residents have been enquiring about the earth works in the water meadow beside Watery Lane. The owner has expressed his intent to develop a camping and caravanning site in the meadow under the permitted development rights afforded by the Camping and Caravanning Club. TVBC served a Temporary Stop Order on the owner last month in response to the construction of a private way in the absence of planning permission. The Order has now expired. The owner responded late last month to a request by TVBC planning to remove the unauthorised material from the meadow. The Parish Council are fully aware of the circumstances and will assess and respond to any associated planning application.

Temporary Stop Order

Many of you have been asking about the recent engineering works in the meadow beside Watery Lane. The owner has been developing the site for a caravan and camping site, but has failed to seek the necessary planning permission for the construction of a new private way on the land. Following engagement by the Parish Council and landowners, Test Valley Borough Council served a Temporary Stop Notice on the owner and the site on 30 October to prevent any further damage to the meadow which is situated in the Local Gap. The Temporary Stop Notice is enforceable for 28 days (until 27th November).
